Microdermabrasion for home

Microdermabrasion – already read a lot about it? We have already reported on it as well. In fact, this method is not new and on Google alone you can find 314,000 entries on the subject. But because the super peeling is also available for your own bathroom, it is worth this page for us. The new at-home device promises nothing less than that the skin becomes firmer and smoother and gets a fresh glow. As a treatment, it is an all-rounder in terms of anti-aging.

Stratum Corneum – this sounds a bit like an extraterrestrial vacation destination or an intergalactic sports arena, but it is actually the Latin name of the upper skin layer. But what is sporty in any case is what the skin achieves over all these years: Cell renewal around the clock. Albeit at a slower rate with increasing age. In a baby, the skin renews itself in just seven days. In a teenager, this process already takes 30 days, and from the mid-40s, skin renewal can sometimes take more than 60 days. What can be done when the rosy appearance of the skin diminishes with age?

Microdermabrasion can perform small miracles: it reduces pigmentation spots as well as acne scars, provides finer pores and softer skin. And what until recently required a time-consuming and expensive visit to a dermatologist or a trained beautician, can now be done at home.

Rosy times through microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is, to put it accurately, the fine, mechanical removal of the very top layer of skin. New is the innovative and patented skin care tool “PMD PRO” with two different rotation speeds. It works through an effective combination of a vacuum suction (ensures better blood circulation) and exfoliation with a crystal-coated rotating disc. The skin is stimulated to regenerate – but – if handled properly – is not injured! After the dead skin cells are removed, it immediately looks fresher and younger. The redness caused by the process depends on the intensity of the peeling disc.

For whom is the beauty tool suitable?

The promise is that it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. However, only the finest disc should be used. In total, there are four different discs. The black disc is also suitable for the body and is not intended for delicate facial skin. The beauty device usually improves the skin’s appearance after the first application and helps with small blemishes, acne scars, pigmentation spots or an overall unsettled skin appearance.

When is the application recommended?

Microdermabrasion generally belongs to the “lunchtime treatments”. This means that you can actually continue working normally directly after the treatment. However, it is important to apply the right UV protection after the treatment – even in winter! According to the manufacturer, it is best to treat in the evening before going to bed, because the skin can absorb the care products up to 20 times better after the treatment. Furthermore, the skin regenerates particularly well overnight.

How exactly is the “PMD PRO” applied?

Before the treatment, the skin should be thoroughly cleansed and patted dry. Then, using gentle pressure (initially only with the finest disc!), the small device is passed over the skin in brisk movements. With the second hand, gently tighten the skin under the area to be treated. It is important to go over the same area only once at a time and to wait seven days until the next treatment. The remaining six days the skin works independently on its regeneration.

How much does the “PMD PRO” cost and where can I get it?

The at-home device is available in gray and pink color variants and costs – together with nine rotary attachments – about 199 euros. One attachment lasts about a month with weekly use.
