Laserfacial makes beautiful in a flash

Soften wrinkles, reduce photodamage and veins, and give your complexion a youthful glow with just one device. Sounds more like a wish than a reality! We explain why this is now possible. Laserfacial is the magic word!

The number of tips to preserve one’s youthful appearance is large. They range from so-called superfoods and regular facial exercises to yoga and meditation. There is also a wide range of aesthetic concepts, from Botox injections and hyaluronic acid fillers to more incisive measures. But not everyone wants more volume in their face or opts for a facelift. Now, with just one laser from Cynosure, you can effectively counteract the signs of time with two combined technologies. The IconTM uses the best of two proven technologies to do so. How the Laserfacial works?

The Icon system combines laser energy and the so-called IPL technology (Intense Pulsed Light) in one device. With different handpieces the different indications can be treated precisely. The treatment takes place in two steps and is offered in selected medical practices.

The first step involves so-called photorejuvenation, which can be used to conjure up a glow effect on the skin. Using an IPL handpiece, pigment spots, age spots, troublesome veins and rosacea are removed. The complexion becomes wonderfully even.

Lasserfacial and pigment spots – Good to know:

Against the unloved brownish spots, but also against disturbing vessels and veins, treatments with IPL flash lamps work particularly well. The unfocused light shoots directly at the color accumulations and literally blasts the pigments apart. Afterwards, a fine crust forms on the skin for a few days, and the destroyed pigments flake off to the outside.

Before the treatment, be sure to clarify whether the skin changes are benign. Afterwards, avoid the sun for several months and apply a cream with a high sun protection factor daily.

Suitable for:

In principle, pigmentary disorders can be treated precisely on all parts of the body. The so-called age spots appear particularly frequently on the back of the hands, forearms and on the face and décolleté.

Result of the laser treatment:

The pigment spots and veins disappear permanently. Sometimes several sessions are necessary.

Cost of laser facial:

Per session from 100 euros.

Laserfacial for couperose? This is what you should know:

The best indication for focused light treatments remains couperosis. This refers to fine, bluish-red veins that shimmer through the skin. They usually show up on the cheeks and around the nose. “Through treatment with modern IPL devices, the vessels are literally welded shut and then broken down by the body,” explains Stuttgart dermatologist Dr. Konstantin Feise.

The light penetrates deep into the skin, the epidermis remains intact due to strong contact cooling, which is why there is no risk of scarring after treatments with IPL if used correctly.

IPL lasers are suitable for:

Those who have particularly sensitive skin are well advised to use IPL treatment.

Result:

The vessels that were treated remain gone. Unfortunately, however, with predisposition, new veins can always form.

Depending on the area, from 150 euros.

Laserfacial against wrinkles brings smooth success

In the second treatment step, a laser handpiece is used, reducing wrinkles, fine lines and scars, and skin imperfections. The laser penetrates through the top layer of skin into the dermis to deliver thousands of light pulses.

The microbeams are distributed (fractionated) to many small points, which is gentle on the intervening skin. “The fractional laser can also be used wonderfully against the more superficial wrinkles on the neck and décolleté and even on the hands,” explains Dr.Feise. “The treatment activates the body’s natural healing powers and builds new collagen and elastin. As a result, the skin looks more youthful and fresh afterwards.”

Good to know:

For the first 24 hours after treatment, the skin will feel similar to sunburn and swollen, pink to red. The redness can be covered with makeup. Before and especially after the treatment, sunbathing and solarium should be avoided for about one to two months. Daily application of an SPF 30 or SPF50 product is an important prerequisite for optimal results.

Suitable for:

The laser can also be used very well only selectively for small areas of skin such as fine lines around the eyes, enlarged skin pores on the nose, for stretch marks (striae) or scars. The treatment is also particularly recommended for the backs of the hands and the décolleté.

Results:

The final result is seen after about three to four months. Depending on lifestyle, the skin remains refreshed and firm for two to three years.

Cost:

From about 400 euros per session. Usually one to three sessions are necessary at intervals of six to eight weeks. Over the course of 1-3 treatment sessions, a continuous improvement in the appearance of the skin becomes noticeable: Pigment spots flake off within the next 1-3 weeks. Wrinkles and scars are continuously reduced due to the formation of new collagen, and the supporting structure of the skin is regenerated.
