Get rid of man chest with fat away syringe
When men grow breasts, it can have different causes. For the treatment of a man’s breasts, it is important to distinguish between them correctly, because only with an accurate diagnosis and the choice of the right means can you get rid of an unloved man’s breast. One distinguishes in principle between gynecomastia and lipomastia. However, because it is difficult to distinguish between the two forms in practice, lipomastia is also called Pseudo-gynecomastia. What is the difference?
The “real” gynecomastia
Gynecomastia: increased glandular tissue
In a true Gynecomastia the mammary gland tissue increases and forms a real “man’s bosom”, as in girls during puberty. How does this happen? Mostly due to hormonal disorders that lead to an imbalance between estrogens and androgens. The reasons for this can again be very diverse and individual. Estrogens from cattle fattening in the diet come into question, as does the abuse of certain drugs, plus certain organ disorders, especially of the kidneys. Excessive beer consumption also promotes gynecomastia, as is commonly known.
Only surgery helps with gynecomastia
As a rule, the only remedy is gynecomastia surgery. Conservative methods, especially gynecomastia medications that affect the hormonal balance, should not be expected to be too successful. Their success rate is modest. Also, the idea of being able to train away a man’s chest will lead to disappointment in the vast majority of cases. I have accompanied men in my gym for several months trying, they finally had to realize that wanting to train away a real gynecomastia simply does not work. Even though exercise itself is of course always recommended. Training away a man’s breast only works if it consists of fatty tissue.
The lipomastia or pseudo-gynecomastia
Lipomastia: fat pads on the male chest
In the case of inauthentic or Pseudo-gynecomastia on the other hand, there are no hormonal disturbances. Instead, breast growth occurs due to increased fat storage. Therefore, this type of male breast is medically referred to as Lipomastia.
Most common cause of lipomastia is – who would have thought? – Obesity. Just as often, therefore, such a man chest can be easily gotten rid of, with strict diet and exercise. Training away a man chest consisting of fat can work if enough calories are burned and the “right” fat pads are melted off by the body. Thus, in the case of lipomastia, things are much simpler than in the case of gynecomastia, which, as already mentioned above, can mostly only be removed surgically.
Lipomastia easier to correct than gynecomastia
Gynecomastia surgery, by the way, is a surgical procedure that is definitely complicated. At least more complicated than you might think. To reduce or suck out fat cells is one thing, but to surgically remove glandular tissue is quite another. If you want to get rid of your man boobs and your doctor diagnoses you with Lipomastia has been lucky in this respect.
Sport and diet often do not help
But even with lipomastia, the solution often does not lie in diets and extra sports. In many cases, the fat pads on a man’s chest stubbornly persist, despite sport and a calorie-reduced diet. It is true that they may become smaller in the course of the diet. But they do not disappear completely. In such cases we also speak of Lipogynecomastia. Its causes can again be of various nature, from genetic predisposition to pathological fat distribution disorders. If both diet and exercise do nothing against their male breasts, then further investigation is indicated in any case.
Gynecomastia and lipomastia distinguishable by palpation
Gynecomastia and lipomastia can be distinguished by palpation of the chest. If true gynecomastia is present, then hard glandular tissue can be palpated around the nipple. If, on the other hand, there is lipomastia, then the breast is soft and flabby. In this case, the “man boob” consists only of fat cells. The good news is that it is much easier to get rid of such a man boob than other forms.
Every 2nd man affected by lipomastia
It is estimated that about 50% of all men are affected by lipomastia. The vast majority of them because of overweight. But whatever the specific reason, the “man boobs” have a negative psychological impact on many of those affected.
Man boobs are considered unmanly
That men want to get rid of their male breasts is therefore obvious. Even many men, who otherwise have nothing for aesthetic interventions, consider going to the surgeon for this. A round breast is a typical female sexual characteristic, and hardly any man really feels comfortable with it. Especially since a breast shaped in this way can no longer be hidden under clothing once it reaches a certain size, which makes the problem a year-round affair that doesn’t just bother you in the summer at the beach or in the open-air swimming pool.
Train away a man’s chest?
Lipomastia also in strength athletes
Lipomastia can also affect men who practice weight training and have a correspondingly athletic physique. However, despite all their muscle mass, they still carry around a certain amount of body fat. Despite all opinions to the contrary, they have virtually no influence on its distribution over individual body regions.
Bulking promotes male breasts
In particular, the increased fat content in strength athletes is noticeable when they are in the buildup (“Bulking”) are what they call it, meaning: eating calories over and above their actual daily requirements in order to accelerate muscle growth. Or when they simply don’t feel like dieting in the off-season and a noticeable layer of fat gradually covers their muscles despite training. For some, despite their imposing stature, small “life rings” form around the hips. In others, however, the fat deposits are noticeable in other places. Not infrequently as a man’s chest in the sense of lipomastia. As strength athletes know very well, the idea of being able to train away a man’s chest by means of a few extra units in the gym is hardly feasible. Fat pads cannot be specifically trained away.
Training away a man’s chest does not work
Not on the chest and not on the stomach either. There are neither specific exercises against man boobs nor a certain type of sport against man boobs that would be particularly promising. Of course, an increased number of calories consumed during exercise will boost fat burning in general. And with that, you will also get rid of your man boobs to some extent. But to what extent, unfortunately, remains open. Some people will certainly succeed in getting rid of the problem in this way; others, on the other hand, will achieve only moderate success in training away their man boobs. The body decides autonomously which fat depots it creates or increases in order to store excess calories from food. And which ones it taps later to mobilize energy that it no longer receives from food as part of a diet.
Six Packs are Made in the Kitchen
“Six Packs are made in the Kitchen, not in the Gym” is why the athletic guys at my gym say it. Diet makes the difference, not the workout. Often enough, it’s even the hard-training “hulks” of all people, who eat very high-calorie foods to gain muscle, who suffer from belly fat and lipomastia. If they want to get rid of their man boobs, along with all other excess fat, then “cutting” is the order of the day: strict diets with daily calorie deficits of 500Kcal and above. Over a long period of time, often enough 12 weeks and more.
Max does not like man boobs OP
Such a case is currently in my practice in Munich for treatment. A man in his mid-40s, let’s call him “Max” (of course, that’s not really his name), tall with broad shoulders, imposing arms and a clearly swollen chest. His problem was already a little apparent under his T-shirt, but became immediately clear as soon as he took it off: at the lower edge of his large pectoral muscle (Musculus pectoralis maior) showed a distinct bulge on both sides.
Keys point to lipomastia
The nipple was very palpable, but the remaining tissue around it was clearly soft. No doubt about it: it was fatty tissue. Max suffered from lipomastia. The excess fat on his chest bothered him, but liposuction was out of the question. Not for price reasons alone. In his opinion, the cost of lipomastia surgery would be out of proportion to the result. “Of course I want to get rid of my man boobs. And if I put my mind to it, and train hard and keep to a strict diet, then the fat will also go away like that,” he said to me. But at the moment he lacks the ambition for that. As an experienced strength athlete, he had no illusions about the prospects of being able to train away lipomastia: “If you want to get rid of these fat pads, there are only 3 things that help: 1. diet, 2. diet and 3. diet,” he said with a laugh.
Max opts for the fat-away injection
But now he had heard about the fat away injection and its possibilities. And wanted to know if it would give him an inexpensive option for getting rid of his man boobs. I confirmed this to him. Due to the clear presence of a lipomastia, the Injection lipolysis (as the fat removal injection is correctly called in medical terms) could provide good services here. Especially since the two fat pads on the chest were not particularly large and locally very well limited. I expected 2 injections per session on both sides and probably 3 sessions in total.
Cost lower than lipomastia surgery
So the cost I was looking at for the entire treatment of his lipomastia was around 1,200 Euros spread over 6 months (the treatment is done at 8 week intervals). Max thought that was fine. With costs in this amount, the lipomastia treatment by means of injection lipolysis would be far below those for surgical interventions such as liposuction. What the first treatment session concerns, so you can see in the video the Preparation and Administration of the injections. Predominantly there was a 5-headed syringe attachment with 5 30G cannulas is used, thanks to which the active ingredient quickly into the whole adipose tissue could be injected. At individual points, I then additionally injected with a single needle.
No pain thanks to local anesthesia
Max was previously anesthetized with a mixture of lidocaine and tetracaine. I left the anesthetic cream to act under occlusion by covering the area coated with it with kitchen foil. After an exposure time of 20 minutes, I started the injections. According to his own statements, Max did not feel any pain during the injection. After a short time, however, the burning sensation typical of injection lipolysis set in on the treated areas. The next day Max sent me these 2 pictures. Clearly visible are the hematomas caused by the 20 injections on each side. Also clearly visible are the redness and swelling, a condition that, from experience, will last 3-6 days.
I had recommended Max not to do any sports during the next 2-3 days. Of course, he did not do it. His chest was extremely sensitive, he said. Bench pressing with weights would have been possible without any problems, but jogging on the treadmill he had to stop after 10 minutes. Chest rubbing against the jersey had become exceedingly uncomfortable, Max said. Instead, he switched to the cross trainer and spent 45 minutes there, with no discomfort, he said.
Update: 2nd treatment session
At the end of September, somewhat later than originally planned, Max came to my practice for the 2nd treatment of his lipomastia (male breast). He had become noticeably slimmer since the 1st session. I guess he lost about 4-5 kilos. “Make room for Oktoberfest,” he said with a laugh. His man boobs also seemed smaller than last time. I took the tape measure and checked the circumference. A good 1cm less. That was remarkable.
A success of our first treatment? That would be nice, but I rather don’t think so. Probably Max’s general weight loss contributed more. I now know the results of injection lipolysis well enough from numerous treatments to form a judgment about the success that can be expected after the first treatment. And such a decline after the first time is unlikely.
Max’s body simply relied more heavily on the fat deposits in the chest area when breaking down fat reserves during weight loss. It may be that our treatment with the fat away injection aided this. It was probably not the cause. But at least: a good starting point for the follow-up treatment.
In conversation, Max emphasized the psychological aspect of the treatment, which may have helped: “After the 1st treatment, I found it easier than usual to pay attention to my diet. Because I thought to myself, if I’m going to have the fat-removal injection for my man boobs, then I don’t want to diminish the success by continuing to eat incessantly. On the contrary, I wanted to support the effect by consciously avoiding sweets and generally eating less in the evening after the workout.”
Did he also increase the training workload or change anything in the workout? “No, everything as usual. I know that trying to train away man boobs doesn’t work. So haven’t even tried it.” Anyway. In the 2nd treatment session, I repeated exactly the protocol of the initial treatment: 2 ampoules on each side. The next treatment is again scheduled 8-12 weeks apart, so the next update will probably be in early December.
Update: no further treatment
A third treatment did not take place. Max was quite satisfied with the progress he had made in the meantime, but generally wanted to lose a few kilos and then see how things went.
